Bluejack National, the resort-style residential community featuring a golf course custom-designed by Tiger Woods, has sold out of its two-bedroom member suite homes earlier than anticipated, said the community’s director of sales.

The development 50 miles north of downtown Houston began selling the 24 suites in 2015, releasing six to eight units at a time while slightly raising the price per square foot, said Gary Short, Bluejack National’s sales director. Short said buyers typically stay in the “oversized guest suites” for weekend getaways or as a vacation home, or rent them out to other Bluejack members. The 1,200-square-foot homes started selling at $450,000 three years ago with the last of the 24 units selling for close to $575,000, Short said.

“We were essentially selling as quick as the builder could build,” he said.

    Short attributed the spike in interest to both the Highway 249 toll road expansion that’s made that part of Montgomery County more accessible and to the recently completed amenity center called The Fort, which features a mini “Fenway Park”-inspired wiffle ball park, pickleball courts, basketball, a restaurant, zip lines and a pottery room.

    “We also see a lot of adults enjoying it too,” he said.

    In September 2017, Short told HBJ despite high interest for homes at Bluejack National, some buyers had been waiting for more amenities beyond the championship-style golf course.

    In addition to the suites designed by Tipler Design & Build LLC, a Woodlands-based custom luxury homebuilder, Bluejack National features cottages and Sunday homes as well as 257 estate lots where buyers can build a primary custom home. Other builders include Jeff Paul Custom Homes, Dream Works Properties, Morning Star Builders and Texas Elite Custom Homes.

    Bluejack National’s golf course can be customized to a shorter three-hole, five-hole or nine-hole route. It’s the first Tiger Woods’ designed course in the country.
